About Us

DMCI POWER CORPORATION (DPC) is the power generation arm of the DMCI Group of Companies (the Group) in the off-grid areas in the Philippines.  Incorporated on 16 October 2006 as DMCI ENERGY RESOURCES UNLIMITED, INC., its name was subsequently amended to DMCI POWER CORPORATION on 16 February 2007.  DPC is a 100% owned and controlled subsidiary of DMCI HOLDINGS, INC. (DMCI HI).  Through its creation, the Group’s commitment to provide reliable and efficient electricity to the underserved communities in off-grid areas of the country was realized.

DPC provides off-grid power to missionary areas through long-term power supply agreements with Masbate Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MASELCO), Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ORMECO), and Palawan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PALECO).  It also supplied power to the Mindanao Grid, specifically in Sultan Kudarat, through an Energy Supply Agreement (ESA) with Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative, Inc. from December 2015 to December 2018.  These projects were all acquired by DPC after winning in the Competitive Selection Process (CSP) conducted by the respective electric cooperatives.

DPC is currently the biggest privately owned generation company in the off-grid areas, with a total installed capacity of about 160MW spread across the 3 major islands in the Philippines. Majority of the total capacity are installed in Palawan (78.13MW) and Masbate (61.92MW) while the rest is installed in Oriental Mindoro (19.71MW).

DPC is the sole power provider in the main island of Masbate

DPC currently supplies the province with 46MW load capacity. Since its commercial operations in July 2010, the demand for power in the island has increased significantly from 9MW to 28MW.  It operates power plants spread across the island using various fuel technologies such as bunker, diesel, and thermal.   Its 15MW Thermal Power Plant in Mobo, Masbate is the first thermal plant in the off-grid area.  This power plant utilizes indigenous fuel and its operation provides significant savings in the Universal Charge for Missionary Electrification (UC-ME) of the National Power Corporation (NPC), subsidized by all power consumers in the country. Owning its best reputation in the power industry, DPC is likewise putting up a 4MW Solar Plant Facility in Cataingan, Masbate in response to the call of the National Government to accelerate the exploration, development, and utilization of renewable resources throughout the country.

DPC is a major power provider in Palawan

Adding to its achievements, DPC was awarded a 15-year power supply contract to supply 25MW guaranteed dependable capacity in the franchise areas of PALECO in July 2012. It currently operates power plants in Puerto Princesa, Aborlan, Quezon, Brooke’s Point, and Bataraza.  DPC is likewise operating its 2nd 15MW Thermal Power Plant in Narra, Palawan since 2023.  The thermal plant serves as primary source of baseload power in the mainland Palawan and its operation further increased the savings in NPC’s UC-ME subsidy.

DPC is a major power provider in Oriental Mindoro

DPC began its operations in the province of Oriental Mindoro in February 2015 after being declared as the winning bidder by the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ORMECO).  DPC has an Electricity Supply Agreement (ESA) with ORMECO from February 2015 to February 2035 to supply 15MW of power through brand-new and state-of-the-art Wartsila Engines utilizing bunker fuel as the signed ESA prescribes.  DPC has also entered into an Emergency Power Supply Agreement for the supply of 4MW from May 2020 to November 2020.  In this regard, DPC ranks with pride as one of the major independent power providers in the province of Oriental Mindoro, operating as both baseload and regulating power plant in ORMECO’s power distribution system.  The entry of DPC as power provider in Oriental Mindoro ensured sufficient and dependable supply of power in the province as well as stability and reliability of the distribution system.
