DMCI Power Corporation (DPC) Calapan planted 500 assorted fruit-bearing trees during the Annual Tree Planting activity last March 17, 2022 at Barangay Sta. Isabel in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
The half-day tree planting activity was participated by 28 community volunteers, DPC employees, and some barangay officials and residents headed by Barangay Sta. Isabel Captain Susan Vergara.
Tree planting is one of DPC’s contributions to reforestation, environmental protection, and in building a healthy ecosystem while shrinking its overall carbon footprint. It also forms part of the DPC’s commitment to grow 1,500 trees by 2024 in support of the National Greening Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
“Planting fruit trees in our barangay would greatly help the livelihood of our residents in the future. We are very grateful and lucky to be one of the focus areas of the forest conservation of DPC,” Brgy. Captain Vergara said.
Apart from tree planting, DPC is also active in other environmental campaigns and programs such as adopt-a- river and waste management in the communities where it operates. DPC commits in doing its part in taking care of the environment to support sustainability for its host communities and to future generations.
