The Kabalikat sa Dagdag Hanapbuhay program was launched recently by the DMCI Power Corporation (DPC) in Barangay Magbabadil, Aborlan in Palawan.
This was undertaken following the success of the said program being implemented from its other operating sites.
The program was designed to provide more sustainable employment and livelihood schemes that aim to increase income of rural households, enabling them to become self-sufficient.
DPC tapped the members of Sipag Pa Aborlan Organization Palawan as beneficiaries of the 22 piglets under the said program.
Selected through a tight process, the beneficiaries will raise the animals for three (3) to four (4) months as fattened swine reckoned from the date of acquisition to marketing. The recipient is mandated to return the original capital to DPC to purchase another round of piglets to be re-dispersed to the next in line selected beneficiaries.
The extra income is theirs to keep. They may also opt to buy a piglet of their own with the money to continue a viable business.
